  • Friday - Saturday - Sunday Las Cruces Pecan Festival at Young Park this weekend starting today Friday April 12th through Sunday April 14th. This three-day event celebrates the rich pecan heritage of the Mesilla Valley region, which produces more pecans than anywhere else in the United States. Fun for the family! Live Music, Face Painting, 20+ Food Trucks, 50+ Vendors plus a Top Chef Competition. View the Festival Map

  • A new restaurant Kallos Mediterranean Cuisine opened at 141 Roadrunner Pkwy STE 115, Las Cruces, NM 88011. They are open from 11 am till 8 pm Monday-Friday, Saturday from 11 am till 5 pm and closed on Sunday. You can see some of the items on the menu by visiting their Facebook Page.   • Guided Hikes on Saturday April 13 at Foster Canyon led by Devon Fletcher, Co-author of Exploring the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument @ 8am-10am and Lower Maria Trail @ 10am. But you need to RSVP. Get the details here. Sorry I just found out this event is full. They only had 20 spots available. We hope to get you this kind of info earlier in the future but it’s great to know these events are available.

  • Drop Everything and Read Day! | Las Cruces Public Libraries | 10 am | 200 E Picacho Ave, Las Cruces, NM 88001 | Join us all day to celebrate National Library Week and the birthday of Beverly Cleary by dropping everything and reading with us! Las Cruces Public Libraries is hosting various fun activities such as games, a story walk in Albert Johnson Park, special guest story times (in person and online), mini book talks, crafts, seed library activities, and drop-in programs all day long. The day will start with a bookish-themed Journal with Jenny program at 10 AM. We encourage everyone to wear purple to support Las Cruces Public Libraries

  • Out of the Darkness Campus Walk | NMSU School of Nursing | 8 am | 2795 S. Locust St., Las Cruces, NM | This is a signature student fundraising event for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The Out of the Darkness Walks are journeys of remembrance and events that unite a community. It is an acknowledgment of how suicide and mental illness have affected our lives and our loved ones.

  • A Walk in the Woods | Black Box Theatre 430 N Main Street, Las Cruces, NM | A Walk in the Woods depicts the developing relationship between two arms limitation negotiators, one Russian, Andrey Botvinnik, and one American, Joan Honeyman, over a year of negotiations. They eventually develop a relationship, although their personalities differ. Botvinnik is friendly and enjoys American culture, Honeyman is formal and idealistic. Note: the play is suggested by a real-life incident, which occurred in 1982. "Negotiators Paul H. Nitze and Yuli A. Kvitsinsky left the official Geneva sessions for an unofficial "walk in the woods" and achieved a breakthrough, soon rejected by their Governments." For exact dates and times visit their website.
