🔥🔥 Fire in Ruidoso - Juneteenth

We search 100’s of local sources so you don’t have to.
Coming to you every Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Hello….

Today is Juneteenth. Today most if not all City Offices will be closed today for Juneteenth Holiday so check before you go.

The Fire 🔥 in Ruidoso….

Many in Las Cruces Rally to Support Ruidoso Fire Evacuees

Tragically, the Ruidoso fire has left many families facing the heartbreaking reality of losing their homes and possessions. There is nothing scarier than having to leave your home at a moment’s notice with nothing but the clothes on your back. These wildfires are fast-moving and dangerous. We lived through many wildfires in Southern Colorado before moving to Las Cruces. Many Prayers!!!

Here is a link to the Facebook Ruidoso Fire Support Group

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Las Cruces and other surrounding communities have come together to aid those displaced by the devastating Ruidoso fire. Local businesses have stepped up, serving as drop-off points for essential donations to help evacuees who left their homes with only the clothes on their backs.

Residents are encouraged to contribute items such as water, toiletries, pet food, toothbrushes, and toothpaste to support those in need during this challenging time. For those wishing to make a monetary contribution, cash donation boxes have been set up at participating locations.

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our neighbors affected by this tragedy. There are a number of drop-off locations like Amador Patio & Grill at 302 South Main downtown and many others can be found on Facebook or Instagram.

There is still a need for Horses to be hauled from Ruidoso Downs if you have a truck and horse trailer but they recommend you get in touch with someone there first to coordinate. Do NOT go without checking first. If you go make sure you have fuel because you won’t find any in the area.

Business Spotlight

When I discovered Pilates, I knew I had found something incredibly fantastic, like a great deal on a pair of shoes or an amazing massage therapist. I wanted to share this wonderful experience with everyone, so I pursued as much training and attended as many workshops as I could to open my own studio and "share that great deal."

At Mary Jane's Pilates Studio, I don't sell memberships because I really dislike them! Life can change quickly, and I understand that. Instead, I focus on being hands-on and extremely observant with my clients, ensuring they don't hurt themselves and are doing what is appropriate for their individual needs.

“Pilates isn't just a workout; it's a journey of self-discovery where strength, flexibility, and mindfulness converge to sculpt not just the body, but the essence of who we are”

I require new clients to take an introduction session, three private classes, and two group classes. The equipment we use is very specialized, and my goal is to keep my clients safe as they learn how to use it and perform movements tailored to their specific needs. Pilates helps with balance, flexibility, strength, and it also fosters great friendships and support among those attending classes.

I am currently working with a new instructor, who is required to observe and participate in my studio until I feel she is clear with my technique and goals for my clients. In the future, I would like to add a few evening classes for those who can't attend during the day.

The most rewarding aspect of owning my studio is meeting wonderful people who want to help themselves by staying active. Seeing my clients progress from day one to where they are now in their practice, and the strength and movements they have achieved, is incredibly fulfilling.

To stay inspired and motivated, I personally take two to three online classes per week with my instructor in New York, continually perfecting my movements and modifying as needed. The motivation also comes from the participants and my clients in their classes.

Come experience the transformative power of Pilates at Mary Jane's Pilates Studio, where I'm dedicated to helping you achieve your fitness goals in a supportive, welcoming environment.

Join our community of individuals committed to staying active, improving their well-being, and forming lasting connections through this incredible fitness method.
